New Music 12/15/23: South of France Featuring Big Samir - Universal Order

With an ultra-dreamy psychedelic pop/rock soundscape, plenty of groove, and their trademark spacey textures, South of France is back with yet another dream-pop gem. “Universal Order” will be released via Staycation Records on 12/15/23, and features a sugary and albeit playful array of transcendent indie pop designed to deliver a hi-fi, blissed-out, hazy, saturated, experience that's loaded with moody bounce and sonic distinction.

Universal Order is a collaborative track written with and a featuring bilingual emcee Big Samir and is part of South of France's upcoming album, My Spirit Animal, My Baggage. The album is part solo effort and part collaborative and will feature a lengthy collection of songs produced by Jeff and and his collaborators Greg Laut (Little Trips), Carl Carrell (Crl Crrll), Big Samir (The Reminders - on this track), and many other international artists TBA.

From his hometown of Denver, South of France’s frontman Jeff Cormack has been building his own brand of dreamy international pop throughout the years upon dropping his first single in 2015. With songs featured in tv shows Bojack Horseman & Shameless and premier features and performances for publications such as American Songwriter, NPR, Rolling Stone and many others, it’s easy to see why South of France has been gaining buzz & opening for bands Portugal The Man, Young The Giant, Flaming Lips, Michigander, Tennis, Zella Day & many others

Big Samir is a bilingual emcee who has steadily made his mark on the hip-hop and World music scene. By bringing together the genres of hip-hop, soul, reggae, and African rhythms, his eclectic style in combination with his smooth flow (with which he seamlessly transitions from English to French) and his inspirational, socially conscious music. With his tantalizing performance ability and upbeat style, Samir has shared the stage with hip-hop heavyweights Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, and more. Samir is also 1/2 of the successful soulful Duo The Reminders, and the group is oft revered among contemporary hip hop circles.
