Big Samir

Big Samir is a bilingual emcee who has steadily made his mark on the hip-hop and World music scene. By bringing together the genres of hip-hop, soul, reggae, and African rhythms, his eclectic style in combination with his smooth flow (with which he seamlessly transitions from English to French) and his inspirational, socially conscious music. The Congolese Lyricist has found a way to bridge cultural gaps while sending positive messages.

Though he was born in Brussels, Belgium, "Big Samir" spent most of his childhood in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. He draws much musical inspiration from his memories of his African upbringing. Themes of faith, perseverance, gratitude, and love form the perfect backdrop for his message of overcoming obstacles and aspiring to achieve the best in life with a positive outlook on the changing conditions of people across the globe.

Samir travels the world sharing his experiences and ideas through his music and walks amongst similar artists like Burna Boy, Chronixx, among others. With his tantalizing performance ability and upbeat style, Samir has shared the stage with hip-hop heavyweights Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lauryn Hill, and more. Samir is also 1/2 of the successful soulful Duo The Reminders, and the group is oft revered among contemporary hip hop circles.
